13^th SHORT FILM MANTRA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2024

Rules And Regulation

• Person of any age can submit the short film
  • Students who are currently undergoing any course from any academic film institution (national or international) are allowed to participate in the Short film festival.
  • Students have to send their id proof of their current film institution.
  • For current students, there WILL NOT be any entry fees.
  • Those who have submitted their films free of entry fees may not be eligible for receiving cash prize ,if they win . But they will be awarded with a trophy and certificate.
  • Entry fees are mandatory for passed out students.
  • The duration of the films should not be more than 15 minutes.
  • Films of any genre can be submitted, there is no particular category for the competition. Rest all the general rules and regulations will be applied.

• The duration of films must be maximum of short film (1<15 minutes), music video (1<5 minutes), animation film (1<5 minutes), including starting and ending credits.

• Form to be filled online along with the google drive link or any other link to your short film. You can Submit multiple Films.
• Films should have no explicit violence, sexual reference or coarse/obscene language and not be against any religious faiths.
• Entries will be subject to preview by a Jury panel constituted by this Festival. Jury panel consists of experienced Directors, producers, sound designer, Music composers and Actors from Film and television Industry.
• Films will normally be screened in their original language/version. In case of language other than Gujarati or English the film must have subtitles in English language. In case any film is submitted without subtitles, it will be ineligible for selection.
• Submissions will not be accepted without the entry form(s).
• Due to the large number of films we receive, only top scoring films will go forward in the competition
• Only Short Films produced & completed after 1st January 2019 are eligible for the festival.
• The organizers of the festival reserve the right to make changes in the screening schedule of films.
• Awards won by Non-Indian Filmmakers will need to pay additional charges for delivery of their award and certificate (Courier Charges as per International Rates according to their countries).
• Submissions are Non-refundable. We cannot be held liable for materials which are lost or damaged.
• Here by request all participants to fill up the details of their bank details, so that we can transfer the award money to their respective bank accounts, if they win in any category
• SFM has every right to use a trailer/teaser/poster for promotional activities of all submitted short film, The selected films will be screened on the festival day subject to the available time duration.
• Only the filmmakers who make it to the official selection of the festival will be notified about selection at the end of the selection process through phone call / E mail or will be announced in our website. No information will be divulged before that.
• Jury’s decision will be the final regarding shortlist of the short film and will be confidential. Decision cannot be challenged in any case.
• We accept film only in these categories, Action, Fiction, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Social Awareness Horror/Sci-Fi, and Musical Video.
• Submissions received after last date of submission will not be included in the competition.
• If you are using another person’s music in your film, please make sure you have their permission and there will be no copyright issues.
• All prizes must be claimed within three months of receiving the notification via email, after which you will be deemed to have forfeited your prize. The film makers who wish to get the trophy through courier have to pay additional amount for the courier charges.
• The festival will not provide feedback on films or specific reasons for rejection for any film.
• Try to upload HD form of the film so that we don't have to ask you again for the film. >Ensure you will be giving permission to download the movies.
• All films must be submitted in “Digital format” (mp 4, .Mov, Pen drive).
• Applicant can send the SHORT FILM in DVD or Pen drive {video format.Mp4 or mov} or to the google drive link to info@shortfilmmantra.com with entry form. The SHORT FILM must be in MP4 or MOV format.
• Dubbed versions of films from other languages are not eligible for submission.
• The films submitted to earlier Film Festivals organized by Short Film Mantra will not be qualified for selection.
• SFM does not take any type of financial commitment for the expense incurred on the correspondence by the participant. All Travel, Lodging & Boarding and other miscellaneous expenses will have to be borne by the participant himself/herself for attending the festival. No request for the same will be entertained. However, festival organizers may guide you through it.
